In March 2025, Tyler Barker joined the Westminster Neighborhood Services Board of Directors and quickly became a key member of the Finance Committee. With a background in construction management and a passion for service, Tyler brings a deep sense of purpose to his role—driven by a belief that we are "blessed only to bless others."

Tyler’s journey with Westminster began with a simple visit, but he says it was love at first sight. What stood out most was the way Westminster staff treats neighbors—with dignity, respect, and genuine care. He was especially drawn to the structure of the food pantry, where neighbors are empowered to make their own choices. This shopping-style approach, he believes, reflects the kind of thoughtful, person-first support that fosters dignity and self-respect.

As a project manager with The Skillman Corporation, Tyler’s professional expertise blends well with his heart for community. He sees the real impact Westminster has; not just in providing meals or afterschool care, but in giving children a fighting chance to break free from generational poverty.

Tyler dreams of expanding opportunities for youth: field trips, more outdoor time, and chances to explore the world beyond their neighborhood. He believes those experiences can shape their futures in lasting ways.

At home, Tyler enjoys cheering on the Indiana Pacers with his wife and two daughters, and in his downtime, he channels his creativity into building model cars.

Westminster is proud to have Tyler’s leadership, compassion, and vision on the board. His commitment to community and belief in the power of opportunity is helping drive our mission forward.
