Volunteer FAQ

What should I wear?

We ask that volunteers wear closed toe shoes. We recommend wearing comfortable clothes as volunteers may be doing a variety of activities such as walking, lifting, and sorting.

7

I want to help, but can't volunteer in person. How else can I  help?

There are several ways to support our mission at Westminster.

We always welcome donations. Without them, we could not provide the assistance we do to so many of our Near Eastside Neighbors. You can donate by accessing the Donate button at the top of our website.

We also accept non-perishable pantry staples.

Be on the lookout for our annual back-to-school and holiday initiatives as well!

What do I bring?

Westminster is located at 2325 E New York Street. Parking is available in the fenced parking lot located on Keystone Avenue. Street parking is free. Please access the volunteer entrance on Keystone Avenue. Ring the doorbell and someone will assist you from there.

Cancel via your Civic Champs account that you set up upon scheduling your volunteer shift. You can also email olivia.stewart@westmin.org with any questions or concerns.

When am I able to volunteer?

Our Pantry hours are Monday and Thursday 9am-12pm and Tuesdays 6pm-7pm. Senior pantry days are the third Wednesday of every month from 9am-12pm.

4

Are we able to schedule group & company opportunities?

Absolutely! To schedule a Company or Group Day of Service, please fill out the form on our Volunteer-Sign-Up Page. Our Pantry Coordinator will reach out to schedule.

5

What if i can't volunteer during pantry hours?

Westminster is always looking for volunteers to help with stocking, organizing, cleaning, and yard work. We also have a list of special projects that groups can collaborate on.

Westminster kids love volunteers! From homework help and tutoring to mentor opportunities, we have opportunities to volunteer with our youth program.
