Westminster’s Christmas Basket Program!
Each year, Westminster’s Christmas Basket Program spreads holiday cheer to hundreds of families on Indy’s Near Eastside. Every basket includes two weeks’ worth of groceries, hygiene items, winter essentials, and gifts for children, ensuring every family can celebrate the season with dignity and joy.
FOR FAMILIES SEEKING HOLIDAY ASSISTANCE
2026 Christmas Basket sign-ups open on Thursday, October 1 and will close in early November. Families must sign up during Westminster's regular food pantries:

Mondays from 9a-12p

Tuesdays from 6-7p

Thursdays from 9a-12p

Senior pantry: Third Wednesdays of each month from 9a-12p (seniors 55+ only)
FOR DONORS: SPONSOR A CHILD
Sponsor opportunities will open in early November.
Each sponsored child receives:

One gift valued between $25–$35

A pair of gloves
-
A pack of socks
-
A stocking cap
-
A pack of underwear
All gifts must be dropped off at Westminster Neighborhood Services by Friday, December 4, clearly labeled with the child’s assigned ID and name.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who qualifies to receive a Christmas Basket?
Families living in Westminster's service area are eligible. Proof of address for each person in the family is required during registration.
How can I sponsor multiple children or involve my company or church?
We love group sponsors! Sponsor multiple children or coordinate a food/hygiene drive to collect a needed item for each basket (ex: stuffing, pancake mix, peanut butter, laundry detergent). Please contact olivia.stewart@westmin.org to coordinate.
When are volunteers needed?
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout December for gift organization, packing, and basket distribution days. Sign up here.
