Westminster’s Christmas Basket Program!

Each year, Westminster’s Christmas Basket Program spreads holiday cheer to hundreds of families on Indy’s Near Eastside. Every basket includes two weeks’ worth of groceries, hygiene items, winter essentials, and gifts for children, ensuring every family can celebrate the season with dignity and joy. Sign-ups for the 2025 program are now closed.

Each sponsored child receives:

One gift valued between $25–$35
A pair of gloves
A pack of socks
A stocking cap
A pack of underwear

All gifts must be dropped off at Westminster Neighborhood Services by Friday, December 5, clearly labeled with the child’s assigned ID and name.

Sponsor a child

Each year, Westminster provides hundreds of children with gifts and winter essentials through the Christmas Basket Program. The estimated cost to sponsor a child ranges from $70–$100.

If you or your organization would like to sponsor multiple children, please email Olivia Stewart.

Please wrap only the child’s gift (not clothing or other items) so our team can confirm all requested items before distribution.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who qualifies to receive a Christmas Basket?
Families living on Indy’s Near Eastside who meet basic income and residency requirements are eligible. Proof of address is required during registration.

How can I sponsor multiple children or involve my company or church?
We love group sponsors! Please contact olivia.stewart@westmin.org to coordinate group sponsorships.

Can I donate other holiday items?
Yes! In addition to gifts, we welcome donations of new hats, gloves, socks, and hygiene products for adults and children.

When are volunteers needed?
Volunteer opportunities are available throughout November and December for gift organization, packing, and basket distribution days.
