Diabetes prevention program to fight type 2 diabetes

2023 Match Challenge.png

Jay came to Westminster’s youth program as a first grader who was quiet, angry, and shut down. At the beginning of summer, Jay was closed off and reluctant to participate in activities. As summer progressed, staff began to see significant changes in Jay. He became less angry, more talkative, and willing to participate. He began to learn how to regulate his feelings better and knew when he needed to take a break to collect himself and when he was ready to return. By the end of summer, it wasn’t uncommon to see Jay dancing, smiling, or talking.

Jay has grown more confident and self-assured during his time at Westminster.

Thanks to donors like you, students like Jay have a safe space to grow and thrive.

For the entire month of August, a generous donor will match gifts up to $10,000!

2023 Back to School Bash was a success!

Back 2 School Bash 2023 (1).png

Our annual Back-to-School Bash was a huge success thanks to our wonderful volunteers, board members, and staff! This year, we provided 622 students with school supplies and uniforms to start their school year right!

We were thrilled to have Mayor Joe Hogsett stop by to support and learn more about Westminster. Future Councilman Jesse Brown also spent his Saturday volunteering helping families pick out the proper uniforms.

Thank you to everyone that made this event possible and your continued support of our mission on the Near Eastside!

Volunteers Needed Linked In post (3) (1).png

Westminster needs volunteers to help with guided shopping and clean-up for our pantry on Mondays, Thursdays, and the third Wednesday of each month from 8:45 a.m. - to 1 p.m.

We're especially struggling with volunteers for our Senior Pantry days on the third Wednesday of each month. Even if you can only volunteer for a portion of a pantry shift, that time is beneficial to our pantry and staff.

If you're unable to volunteer during these times, another way to support Westminster is by spreading the word. By sharing our social media posts you help us expand our reach to more people.
